This course is designed as an internal and external exploration of the elements, the seasons and the cycles of life. We are living in a society profoundly disconnected to the skills and knowledge of our ancestors.
Sacred Ecology is designed to help us remember and reclaim our connection to earth, self, and community. If you would like to gain a deeper understanding of the Earth’s ecological cycles, regain a sense of embodied earth wisdom, and ‘rewild’ the self through hands-on primitive skills, nature awareness and ceremony, we would love to have you on board.
Taj, the ‘Perma Pixie’ and Claire Dunn, author of My Year Without Matches are collaborating to bring you a variety of processes, knowledge, hands on skills and ritual to gain a deeper understanding of Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. You will be immersed in a variety of skills ranging from how to ground and centre, how to create indigenous fire, grow food, overcome anger, understand bird language, care for the soil, forage, create shelter and much more.
The course starts during the deep of the Winter Solstice, 2015, and continues for one weekend each season, corresponding to the elements. During the course, participants will camp on the Solstices and Equinoxes, for 2 days and 3 nights on a farm 1.5hrs from Melbourne, immersing in wild nature.
Fully catered with nutrient dense vegetarian meals using old style homestead preparations, as well as Qi Gong and Yoga offered in the morning, this course is focused on self-care as well as environmental responsibility.
Participants will receive a hand-bound journal to record the journey through-out the eighteen month period of discovery, as well as a copy of Starhawk’s 'The Earth Path' as a core syllabus text. We look forward to hearing from you.
