The Psychology of Spirituality
Becoming an Integrally Informed Therapist
September 2-7th 2017
With facilitators
Nic Morrey, Carla van Laar
Claire Dunn & Ketut Arsana
Spirituality is increasingly accepted as integral to human psychology, vital for physical and mental health. This training sets out what spirituality is as a line of intelligence, the values it represents and how it contributes to mental health and well-being.
A psycho-spiritual approach to therapy provides a deeper understanding of people’s problems, aiding recovery and gaining resilience. The training will cover latest research on ‘trajectories’ of spiritual development through several distinct stages, with practical techniques and exercises for reducing anxiety, depression and addiction.
he commitment to self care is particularly crucial for those in the helping profession. We will not only talk about self care and explore themes such as ‘blind compassion’ but also actively experience self nurturing.
This training will support you on many levels including renewing your professional practice. Lush Tropical Ubud offers a sanctuary, a place where culture connects intimately with its land and spirituality. There is so much for Western culture to learn about mental health from this alone. The training includes immersing ourselves within Balinese Hindu culture, including Kecak dance, Jegog music, Ubud art, food markets, visiting temples, eating great organic food, having regular massage, resting and recuperating & meeting like-minded therapists whilst gaining 25 PD points at a very reasonable cost.
