Outdoor Education Centre MIrawara has invited us to run a two day Earth Skills Workshop near Castlemaine.
Saturday will start at 10am with a Welcome to Country, followed by nature connection and earth skills activities for the rest of Saturday. Evening meal will be served around the campfire and we encourage people to bring their own music instruments to join in the fun. We will have the amazing opportunity to hear Indigenous stories around the campfire with Rebecca Phillips who is a Djaara storyteller and passionatly involved in Dja Dja Wurrung language retrieval.
Our Sunday morning will start with a morning walk, followed by stories in the landscape, tracking, bird and animal language with Michael Smith and Mel Turnbull from firekeepers. After lunch, we will have the opportunity to learn Dja Dja Wurrung basket weaving with acclaimed weaver Aunty Marilyn. A great 2 days of connection and immersion in nature. Children under 12 are free with adult supervision. Hope to see you there!
